The current focus for all social media sites seems to be that they want to provide comprehensive, real time, and integrated news and updates. Following this trend, LinkedIn introduced a new feature called "Signal". Here you can customize your search to get real time updates from across industries and networks. The updates include Twitter feeds as well. This seems to be a very useful feature that LinkedIn has added.
